Sharing food and conversation

This week, we want to spotlight our Cooking & Eating Together event during this year’s Refugee Week and the delicious Iranian food we prepared together. The group was led by a participant who showed us how to make vegetarian Kotlet, a national dish of Iran. Whilst some helped peel and chop, others cooked, and everyone had a chance to socialise and enjoy a communal meal together.  As part of Refugee Week, we opened the event up publicly and saw an increase in numbers, many of whom were asylum seekers and refugees who were joining Refugee Roots for the first time.
