We value placement students who contribute to our mission to create a place to belong for refugees and asylum seekers. Jaimie is a current volunteer and law student who joined Refugee Roots for an internship facilitated and funded by the Widening Participation Programme at the University of Nottingham. 

 

Our placement students are invaluable in providing support to our participants. Jaimie assisted us with our Access projects, including leading English classes, supporting various events, and getting involved in our Access Art group. 

 

Throughout their placement, students are guided with training and support from our Volunteer Coordinator and Project Coordinator. Jaimie has continued her involvement with Refugee Roots as an active volunteer at our projects alongside her studies.
