Food, games, and sun at Rufford Abbey

Last week, we had our annual Summer Day trip to come together in a beautiful outdoor space and enjoy the last of the summer sun. We were joined by participants and volunteers to visit Rufford Abbey and explore the green country park.

Throughout the day, we had relaxing and social activities such as colouring, frisbee, chess, and card games. In the afternoon, our weekly Walking Group took place to visit Rufford Abbey’s amazing gardens and lake whilst practising creative writing and poetry.

The day was a fantastic occasion for participants to discover new parts of Nottingham and spend time together. The Summer Day Trip is a great example of the sense of community we have created at Refugee Roots. One participant said:

I would of course recommend this support to others. It was very helpful and I was glad to be in the nice company of Refugee Roots.

Thank you to everyone who came and we hope to see at our future trips!
