Student Voices: Gladys’ Placement Journey with Refugee Roots

This year, we had the pleasure of welcoming Gladys, a first-year Education student, onto a placement with Refugee Roots. Her time with us offered not just insight into inclusive education, but real-world experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Gladys supported our English language sessions, helping participants improve their communication and English speaking skills in a warm and welcoming environment. From day one, she demonstrated patience, adaptability, and a passion for making learning accessible. Her biggest takeaway? That supporting learners is about more than language, it’s about confidence and empathy.
