A place to belong for Ukrainian Refugees

We are fundraising for our response to the Ukrainian War and response to Ukrainian Refugees coming to Nottingham.

How we will help

Befriending

We will be offering befriending support to locally hosted refugees. If you or someone you know is hosting a refugee through the government scheme we would happily assist and support them or you with additional support form our befrienders to help with needs such as:

  • benefits
  • employment
  • social activities
  • english classes
  • school

Supporting volunteers to host

We are working with the European Law Students' Association to get contacts across Ukraine in order to match with willing volunteers under the "Homes for Ukraine" scheme. Once you register your interest in being matched we will take into account the space you have in your home and reach out with the information of a Ukrainian individual or family.

We will also soon be able to provide video materials explaining the process of going through the "Homes for Ukraine" scheme and completing the joint visa application.

What is the funding for

The funding we are seeking is to cover associated costs with supporting refugees with befriending and for the additional costs associated with supporting volunteers to become hosts through the government Homes for Ukraine scheme and in working with partners to provide this crucial service.

  • Additional staff costs
  • Additional volunteering costs
  • Direct befriending project costs
  • Additional marketing, promotional, and administration costs
