Volunteer Coordinator

21 hours per week, £25,180 to £27,234 (based on experience)

Responsible to: Refugee Roots Director, Board of Trustees, Your Line Manager 

Location: 17-19 Long Row, Nottingham NG1 2DH

Working Relationships: Asylum seekers & refugees, Refugee Roots’ Charity Director and staff team. Refugee Roots’ trustees and volunteers. Other agencies working in the area. 

Hours of work: 21 hours per week between Monday to Friday. Evening and weekend working will be required occasionally. 

  • Tuesday 9am to 5pm (7.5)
  • Wednesday 9am to 5pm (7.5)
  • Friday 9am to 3pm (6)

Contract Length: 12 months

Role Description

The Volunteer Coordinator provides overall recruitment, placement and support for our volunteering programme working closely with key project staff to ensure the safe recruitment and placement of volunteers in projects. The role also includes overseeing the support and supervision of Placement Students. As Volunteer Coordinator the post holder is responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the volunteering programme from start to finish, training and inducting volunteers, providing a highly impactful volunteering programme and giving our volunteers the best experience possible that leads to effective outcomes for participants. 

It is an exciting opportunity to support a volunteer team of over 100 people in the last year and maintain relationships with local universities, volunteer centres,  businesses and faith communities that provide volunteers.
