About us Our Partners and Funders Primary Takeover Partnership Primary Takeover: Where Creativity and Community Come Together! At the start of this month Refugee Roots collaborated with Primary Gallery to host a three day event for our participants with the intention of bringing people together through arts and cooking workshops. The Takeover activities were chosen by a focus group who co-produced the programme. From April 8th to the 10th, the event offered a welcoming space where participants could express themselves, try something new, and connect with others. A variety of workshops were featured at the event, including gardening sessions, drawing, and multiple crafts and activities for children. At the end of the day everyone shared meals that were made with love from our participants provided moments of connection and a sense of belonging. On the final day, participants celebrated their heritage by drawing their country flags and shared stories about themselves. We are incredibly grateful to Primary and our special volunteers for making these wonderful joyful three-days possible. Art of Belonging We would love to expand and develop our partnerships while exploring ways of working together to deliver creative and welcoming spaces for refugees and asylum seekers.
