Fundraising ideas for schools

If you are connected to a school, there are lots of ways for you to fundraise for Refugee Roots.

Pay to Play

A fun idea to raise funds is to offer more time off curriculum during the school day. Students would have the opportunity to have an extra break or playtime in which they can socialise with their peers or play ball games. Students would be asked to make a donation (suggestion £2) which could be collected by a team of older students during tutor time.

This is a fantastic idea as the weather improves and ensures students can all enjoy some fresh air and spring sun.

Non-uniform Day

Ask pupils to wear their own clothes instead of uniform in return for a donation to Refugee Roots. Or get creative and choose a costume or colour theme!

Bake Sale

Students could bake some sweet treats at home, then sell them at break time to raise money.

Movie Night

Highbank School hosted a movie night to raise money for Refugee Roots. You could sell popcorn and drinks to raise even more funds!

Sports Event

Form a team to complete a sports challenge - a walk, run or climb. You could choose a distance target, and do relay laps of the school field to reach the target!

Get Creative

Organise an art exhibition, concert or performance and sell tickets in aid of Refugee Roots.

Other ways to support us

We have a foodbank for our participants to access, and we welcome donations of tinned or long-life foods as well as toiletries and hygiene items. Why not have a collection point at your school?
