Please help me raise £50 for every mile I run on Sunday 28th September.

Since working with Refugee Roots I have seen the vital work that many charities are doing for Refugees and Asylum seekers, in a climate of cutbacks and a lack of resources.

Our tag line is 'A Place to Belong' - welcoming Asylum Seekers and Refugees to Nottingham; supporting people to find a place to call home as they rebuild their lives here. We run many groups to this end - including ESOL classes; art and performance groups; community cooking groups; football; running club; and our 1to1 Befriending Scheme. We also have an advice project (assisting participants with navigating life in the UK) and an Essential Skills project (supporting people into education and basic skills training).

At Refugee Roots we have a campaign to raise 100k in 2025, for vital funds to continue our important work amongst Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Nottingham.

I am doing my part by running 13.1 miles! It is taking considerable commitment on my part to get to the point where I am able to run this far! But each day of this training, I am reminded of the resilience and determination of individuals we work with - who have come so far, overcoming much adversity, to seek safety in Nottingham.

Please sponsor me to stand side by side with Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Nottingham as I run for Refugee Roots on September 28th. Thank you! Catherine Fairbrother
