News Meet Stephanie our new Fundraiser Raising hopes and aspirations "I’m Stephanie (or Steph!) and I joined Refugee Roots in November as Fundraising and Communications Coordinator. I’ve lived in Nottingham since coming here for university in 2001. In my first few weeks at Refugee Roots I’ve been getting to know the staff team, the history of the project and about the many activities that happen every week. It’s been great to visit the women’s group, Access at Trinity, meet some of the participants and volunteers and get involved in some artwork too!" "I’ve worked in local charities in Nottingham since leaving university. My experience is in administration and fundraising for organisations working in the fields of homelessness and substance misuse. Most recently I was working for a women’s charity, and I continue to have a particular interest in work that supports women who are vulnerable and marginalised." I’ve been aware of the work of Refugee Roots for several years and it’s a privilege to now be part of the team who are making a real difference in the lives of refugees and asylum seekers. "I’m looking forward to building income and support for Refugee Roots through funding applications to grants and trusts and also exploring other ways to raise money and the charity’s profile."
