News Socially Distanced Befriending Groups Enjoying each other and the great outdoors One of our latest initiatives as we phase from remote services to some face to face support is to host socially distant befriending groups. We are now providing weekly groups for our most vulnerable participants When? Art Sessions (Friday) on demand, get in touch Women's Befriending Group (Tuesday) Mixed Befriending Group (Monday and Tuesday) Groups are mostly meeting Monday, Tuesdays and Fridays. Groups are capped at 6 participants and meet outside. Where? Most groups are meeting at Windmill Community Gardens, although other spaces are possible depending on current restrictions and regulations. What do groups do? Groups are involved in a number of activities and support such as: Art Sessions Cooking English Language Learning Socialising and Conversation It was so good seeing each other again after such a long time. It did me good. Participant Who is it for? We are prioritising the most vulnerable and accepting referrals. There is a waiting list and we aim to create opportunities for as many people as possible. The groups are for any asylum seeker or refugee looking for something positive to do and meet other people.
